Best known as the founder of KIND Snacks, Daniel Lubetzky is a social entrepreneur focused on empowering people to work across divides to constructively solve problems.
Daniel’s foray into food was the unexpected outcome of his work to use business to bring neighbors in Middle Eastern conflict regions together. The son of a Holocaust survivor, Daniel strives to empower moderates to become Builders who take action to counter extremism, antisemitism, and all forms of hate.
He conceived of civic initiatives OneVoice, Citizen Solutions and BUILDERS to supplant simplistic “us vs. them” frameworks and replace them with nuance, complexity, and concrete solutions built via alliances across perceived divides. BUILDERS equips moderates with problem-solving tools and programs to address extremism-fueled conflicts and division in the US, Middle East, and Ukraine-Russia.
Daniel is passionate about channeling business forces to achieve social good. Since introducing KIND’s Fruit & Nut bars in 2004, Daniel built KIND from one out-of-the-box idea into a multibillion-dollar global health and wellness brand committed to creating a kinder and healthier world. Through Camino Partners,Daniel and his team partner with entrepreneurs to co-found, launch, and build new ventures, and also take meaningful positions in entrepreneur-led ventures building through the next phases of their growth.
Daniel is a member of the Anti-Defamation League’s Board of Directors. He has received The King Center’s Beloved Community Award, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, Columbia Business School’s Botwinick Prize, Carnegie Corporation’s Great Immigrants Award, and The Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Civility and Compassion. Daniel was named a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship by President Obama. He is the author of The New York Times bestseller Do the KIND Thing and a recurring Shark on ABC’s Shark Tank.
Daniel holds a BA in Economics and International Relations from Trinity University and a JD from Stanford Law School. He is a proud US citizen who emigrated from Mexico at age sixteen. He enjoys spending time with his family and practicing magic.
Daniel’s father not only survived the Holocaust — he saw the good in humanity despite it all. Daniel is motivated to ensure what happened to his father never happens again.
